East Kootenay Early Years Coalition

The East Kootenay Childhood Coalition consists of people committed to ensuring that space, resources and relationships exist within our communities that make it possible for children and families to reach their fullest potential.

The East Kootenay Childhood Coalition emerged in 2001 to provide a formal and consistent forum where individuals and interested groups could work together. They willingly bring their individual skills and knowledge to this collective forum in support of children, families and communities.

The Coalition strongly believes that all persons in a community contribute to children, families and community functioning and that we work to increase and enhance participation from around our territory and region.

Our Goals for 2015-2018:

  1. Strengthen and sustain the coalition
  2. Improve knowledge of early years services and programs
  3. Support coordination and planning for regional early years services and early years committees
  4. Meet the needs of Aboriginal children and families
  5. Advocate and communicate to build one strong voice for Early Years in the East Kootenay region
  6. Ensure the East Kootenay region is family friendly and aware of the importance of the Early Years
  7. Increase access to services

The East Kootenay Early Years Coalition is an open forum. You are invited to attend our meetings which take place at various locations in Cranbrook. For more information about meeting dates and locations, please contact Mary Noble at 250-426-2542 or by email to [email protected].
