Why are the Early Years Important?
The Provincial Office of the Early Years has released great resources on the importance of the early years on a child’s development. Check them out below!

The East Kootenay Child Care Needs Assessment Report is now available! Please click here for more information!
The Elk Valley Child Care Barriers and Oppurtunities Survey Final Report is completed and available to the public. The survey report reflects a similar crisis in child care and early childhood education as in the East Kootenay Region with added unique challenges of shift work and rotating work schedules for many individuals working in the region.
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
Children First and Success By 6, in collaboration with the East Kootenay Child Care Needs Assessment Advisory Committee, would like to celebrate child care providers, early childhood educators, early childhood educator assistants, support workers and other early years professionals!
We want to let East Kootenay communities know about all the hard work and great things you do for your communities! If you choose to participate, your picture, name, title and program information will appear in your local paper in 2016. This will bring awareness to the communities of all the wonderful early years programs available and celebrate you!
Please email your name, picture, title and program to Mary Noble, Children First and Success By 6 Regional Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org
